Besan Cheela

Ingredients

1 cup besan (gram flour)

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 small tomato, finely chopped

¼ cup chopped coriander leaves (dhania patta)

1 small green chilli, finely chopped

½ inch ginger, finely chopped

½ cup water (or as needed)

Salt to taste

Oil, as required
Method

Add the besan to a mixing bowl.

Add all the ingredients except water and oil.

Gradually add water and whisk well to make a smooth, flowing batter. Ensure there are no lumps.

Heat a tawa or flat pan on low flame.

Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and gently spread it using the back of the ladle.

Cook on low flame and drizzle ½ to 1 teaspoon of oil around the edges.

Cook until the base turns light golden in colour, then flip and cook the other side until done.
Serving Suggestion
Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
